OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Assistant Professor Katie Kingery-Page was selected as a finalist for the New England Resource Center for Higher Education 2013 Ernest A. Lynton Award for the Scholarship of Engagement for Early Career Faculty. Nominated by the KSU Center for Engagement and Community Development, Katie was selected from a pool of 35 candidates representing a range of institutions and disciplines. Her representation of the design professions in the diverse field of community engagement and service learning is exemplary. Congrats Katie!
Assistant Professor Howard Hahn’s LAR 648 Landscape Specialization Studio is returning from a field trip Sept. 5-9 to Novato, CA. The trip, “Sensitive Development in the Novato Hills”, will provide students with and increased knowledge of sensitive residential development by visiting precedent examples found in the San Francisco area, including the Santa Lucia Preserve near Carmel.
The Design Days 'I Wish Manhattan 2025' exhibit had a steady stream of Manhattan community members throughout the two day display. Attendees included four of five city commissioners, including Mayor Matta, two of three county commissioners, the city manager and many more notable community figures. All of the wishes collected for Design Days will be used by the city's comprehensive plan consultant.

A note from Associate Dean Ornelas: When covering the bulletin boards, please make sure you use fire coated paper, which is available in white or black. Also, please remember that no more than 20% of the walls can be covered with flammable materials. The Fire Marshall interprets that to mean that we cannot paper our entire bulletin boards with flammable materials. So please leave the original white bulletin board [which is made of fire resistant material] or some of the fire resistant paper visible when you post things on the walls.
