Ken Greenberg will deliver the 2013 Ekdahl Lecture on Wednesday, November 6. Readings from his book, Walking Home: The Life and Lessons of a City Builder, would be a great addition to Fall syllabi. You will find his book in Weigel on reserve.


OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Dr. Huston Gibson, Assistant Professor, was selected for a 2013-2014 Big 12 Factuly Fellowship supporting his work with University of Oklahoma faculty member Dr. K. Meghan Wieters of the Division of Regional and City Planning in the College of Architecture. They are studying how planners should present environmental topics for discussion and important work within our “red state” communities.

The Landscape Architecture Foundation June 2013 Newsletter featured the Blue Hole Regional Park Case Study completed by LAF Research Fellow Jessica Canfield, Assistant Professor, and Research Assistant Elise Fagan, MLA Student.

The film Chasing Ice will be presented Saturday, July 13, 2-4 pm, at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. The film will be followed by a panel discussion including Representative Hedke (author of HB 2366 concerning use of public funds on sustainable development), a representative of the Kansas Farmers Union, and Dr. Chuck Rice, Distinguished Professor of Agronomy.
