I am a community development professional with a doctorate in international development. Most of my development work has been done in the United States, although I have spent a fair amount of time trying to increase international understanding through youth partnerships and exchanges. I am currently affiliated with an anti-poverty, community action agency in Northwest Vermont, helping them to acquire federal, state, and private funds and conducting community needs' assessments. Prior to this, I worked with Native American youth in Montana, primarily on two Indian reservations as a youth development specialist. My research is around social networks and how they affect communities, economically and politically. Additionally, my work, my thinking, and my teaching consider how culture, values, and context interact and how these affect communities and systems.
