APDPro recommends attending a Resume Building event hosted by APDPro or meeting with the APDesign liaison in the Career Center, as these options ensure you receive tailored guidance on strengthening your resume as a APD student. However, if you met with another Career Center representative, faculty member, industry professional or attended a resume workshop specifically for design and planning students, please complete the Resume Building Event Attendance Form to request evaluation of the meeting to receive credit for this APDPro checklist item.
APDPro: Design Expo/Career Transition
Fri Feb 27 2026 | 10am-3pm | Hilton Garden Inn
Design Expo is the College of Architecture, Planning and Design’s premier career fair where students from ALL disciplines have the opportunity to connect with 100+ firms who are actively recruiting for internships and full-time positions. Many firms offer same-day interviews from 3:00–5:00 pm. Registration is open now but not required. Students who attend will recieive APDPro credit.
Second year RECD, third year IDSN & 5 year program APDesign students will receive APDPro: Design Expo checklist credit. Fourth year RECD & 5th year APDesign students will receive APDPro: Transition to Career checklist credit.

APDPro recommends completing your Transition to Career requirement by participating in APDPro hosted offerings such as Mock Interviews, Design Expo, and Portfolio Reviews, as these experiences are tailored to preparing you for professional engagement in your career field.
However, if you participated in another event that supported your readiness for the transition into your career such as an employer-led workshop, career preparation session, or similar experience and would like to request credit, please complete the Transition to Career Event Attendance Form to request evaluation of the event for this APDPro checklist item.

APDPro recommends attending a Financial Planning event hosted by APDPro, as these sessions are designed to support your understanding of budgeting, financial decision-making, and preparing for professional life in design and planning career fields.
